National Stakeholder Workshop on Ecosystem Services and Poverty Alleviation Study in South Asia (ESPASSA)
Ecosystem Services and Poverty Alleviation Study in South Asia (ESPASSA) at BRAC Centre on 17th December 2007
We are pleased to inform that BRAC in association with IUCN Bangladesh is organizing a day-long workshop on “Ecosystem Services and Poverty Alleviation Study in South Asia (ESPASSA)” at BRAC Centre on 17th December 2007. The workshop will be held in the Auditorium at BRAC Centre.
As part of ESPASSA, BRAC is currently preparing a Situation Analysis to provide a synthesis of information on the current status of and challenges to the ecosystem services that are most important to the well-being of the poor of this country. The workshop being held is an integral part of the ESPASSA project that aims to:
- Initiate a process through which dialogue can be established with key organizations/individuals such as ecosystem managers, policy makers and communities that benefit from or depend on ecosystem services
- Support the assessment of information and knowledge needs identified in the Situation Analysis and
- Evaluate the potential for skills and knowledge exchanges to strengthen research capacity
Professionals from relevant government institutions, semi-government and autonomous organizations, donor agencies, concerned NGOs and other stakeholders have been invited to participate in the workshop. Please check the list of invitees and tentative outline of the workshop.
